Returning to the Kari Motor Speedway for the Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing (RACR) felt like coming home, not just because it’s in my hometown of Coimbatore, but also because Kari is the track I know best. It’s where I attended my first track school and even raced a full season, so I was eager to see how the revised layout had changed things.

Owned by LG Sports, Kari Motor Speedway has long been a staple of Indian motorsport, hosting a steady stream of car and bike racing, as well as track day enthusiasts. The revamp, overseen by managing director and ex-racer B. Vijay Kumar, brought much-needed updates to the circuit, especially to bring it closer in line with the facilities offered by India’s other premier tracks like Buddh International Circuit and the upgraded Madras Motor Race Track.
