The end of the lockdown finally meant getting back on motorcycles, but for me, it came with a dose of reality. Weeks of minimal exercise and an indulgent diet had taken their toll, and my old riding jacket had become noticeably snug. The healthy solution would, of course, be to lose the extra weight; but the quicker, more practical route was to upgrade my gear. The jacket I had been using was a hand-me-down from the office and long overdue for replacement.
