Talk motorcycles with me for five minutes, and I’ll be selling you the benefits of a certified track school before you know it. No matter what you ride or how skilled you think you are, a day on a racetrack will almost always make you a better rider.
Track schools have grown in number over the past few years, and I’ve been fortunate to attend a few. But it’s been over three years since my last session, and countless hours on the street inevitably introduce some bad habits. So when the Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing (RACR) invited us to the Kari Motor Speedway for their programme, I was eager to hit the track and shake off the cobwebs.
The RACR programme runs multiple times a year across India’s three main circuits: Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai, and the Buddh International Circuit. This session was particularly exciting because it was my first time on Kari’s recently redesigned layout, and on a proper race-ready motorcycle.
